Bridal Boutique Seamstress – Custom Fittings & Alterations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced bridal seamstress to join our boutique on a freelance basis. You will work directly with brides throughout the fitting process, delivering personalized alterations and customizations for wedding gowns and related attire.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct first, second, and final fittings with brides for their wedding gowns.
• Customize gowns by hemming, adjusting side seams, shaping bodices, modifying necklines and sleeves.
• Create bespoke bustles tailored to each dress design and bride preference.
• Handle alterations for bridesmaid dresses, mother‑of‑the‑bride gowns, and other ceremony attire.
• Educate brides on alteration possibilities, timelines, and day‑of expectations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in bridal alterations with a portfolio or references.
• Confidence working with high‑value gowns and patience for precise fittings.
• Strong customer‑facing presence to reassure nervous brides.
• Reliable workspace with adequate space for fitting and steaming.
