Automotive Strategy Leader

About the role

The Automotive Strategy Leader will join 3M’s global automotive team to shape market and technology roadmaps, drive growth initiatives, and influence strategic decisions across the automotive tier‑supply chain. This role blends deep industry knowledge with strategic planning, competitive analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of the automotive strategic plan, leveraging market research, technology roadmaps, and TAM/SAM analysis.
• Conduct comprehensive market and competitive intelligence to identify priority spaces and investment themes.
• Own and produce presentation materials for quarterly executive updates, board briefings, and strategic planning cycles.
• Define key growth vectors, set success measures, and track investment milestones across organic, partner, and inorganic initiatives.
• Partner with vertical alliances and marketing teams to prioritize accounts, external engagements, and industry events.
• Establish and drive a consistent global go‑to‑market strategy, including ecosystem partnership priorities.
• Oversee major transformation projects and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (required) and preferably an MBA.
• Minimum five years of experience in strategy, marketing, business operations, or business development.
• At least five years of automotive industry experience, especially within the tier‑supply chain.
• Proven ability to conduct complex quantitative research and deliver data‑driven recommendations.
• Experience presenting to senior executives and influencing cross‑functional teams.
