Dimensional Analyst Technician II – Metrology & CMM Specialist

About the role

The Dimensional Analyst Technician II supports engineering teams by performing precise dimensional measurements on automotive components and complete vehicles. Using advanced Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and 3D laser scanning, you will generate accurate analysis reports that drive design decisions. This full‑time, onsite position is based in Livonia, MI.

Key responsibilities

• Measure hard points and capture 3D laser scan data for individual parts and full vehicles using a CMM arm.
• Set up and dismantle components and vehicles on dimensional surface plates.
• Conduct scheduled calibration checks and routine maintenance of CMM equipment.
• Interpret technical dimensional drawings and documentation.
• Troubleshoot CMM software and hardware issues.
• Prepare and distribute dimensional analysis results in multiple formats.
• Maintain clean surface plates and support upcoming project preparations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or CAD/metrology certification is a plus.
• Minimum 4 years of experience with CMM, CAD, or related metrology work.
• U.S. citizenship to satisfy ITAR compliance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of automotive components.
