Automotive Service Technician – Full‑Time

About the role

The Service Technician position at Mills Auto Group in Columbia, SC offers a full‑time opportunity for a detail‑oriented automotive professional. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of vehicles while delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Examine vehicles based on customer requests and concerns.
• Perform basic maintenance such as tire rotation, fluid checks, and oil changes.
• Repair or replace worn components including spark plugs, wheel bearings, brake pads, fuel systems, and sensors.
• Use computerized diagnostic equipment and visual inspection to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
• Follow checklists to ensure thorough examination of all systems.
• Communicate repair recommendations to customers and collaborate with fellow technicians.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong verbal communication for explaining repairs.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and physically able to lift 50 lb unassisted.
• Critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities.
