Associate Director of IT & Chief Information Security Officer

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking an experienced leader to serve as Associate Director of Information Technology and Chief Information Security Officer. Reporting to the CIO, the incumbent will champion information security across the campus and guide the overall IT strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive information security program, including policies, procedures, and controls.
• Collaborate with academic and administrative stakeholders to embed security best practices into all university operations.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and institutional regulations governing data protection.
• Lead incident response, risk assessments, and continuous monitoring activities.
• Oversee the IT department’s strategic initiatives and contribute to overall technology planning.

Required profile

• Master of Science degree in Cybersecurity or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience leading an information security program, preferably as a CISO or DCISO.
• Proven ability to work with multiple government agencies and manage complex security environments.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and risk management frameworks.
