Assistant Professor of Psychology

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Monticello seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Psychology to join its Social and Behavioral Sciences department. The successful candidate will teach a full load of undergraduate courses, engage in scholarly research, and contribute to student advising and campus service.

Key responsibilities

• Teach up to 12 credit hours per semester, covering introductory psychology, research methods, statistical methods, developmental psychology, and other undergraduate courses.
• Maintain an active program of scholarship and involve students in research activities.
• Provide academic advising and supervise undergraduate projects.
• Participate in departmental and university service initiatives.
• Support a culture of collegiality and civility within the campus community.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely‑related field (ABD candidates completing by December 2026 will be considered).
• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate psychology courses.
• Commitment to ongoing scholarly activity and student mentorship.

Required skills

• Experience with online teaching platforms, preferably Blackboard.
