Assistant or Associate Professor – Higher Education Learning Technology

About the role

This is a tenured or tenure‑track faculty position in Higher Education Learning Technology (HELT) at East Texas A&M University, with a start date in Spring or Fall 2027. The role focuses on online teaching, scholarly research, and service to the university community.

Key responsibilities

• Teach graduate‑level courses online and develop curriculum for higher education programs.
• Implement an ongoing program of scholarly research and publications, including collaborative projects.
• Provide service and leadership to professional organizations, the university, college, and department.
• Chair and serve on master’s and doctoral student committees and advise graduate students.
• Demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
• Maintain a professional environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and effective engagement with all stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as required by the department.

Required profile

• Earned doctorate in Higher Education or a closely related discipline from an accredited U.S. institution.
• For assistant‑professor candidates: beginning record of scholarly research productivity, teaching experience at the graduate level, and potential to direct doctoral dissertations.
• For associate‑professor candidates: substantial record of scholarly research, experience directing doctoral dissertations, expertise in online instruction, and experience in curriculum and program development.
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, service, and research.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; proficiency in English.
