About the role
The Assistant Director of Student Affairs and Wellbeing supports the School of Medicine’s mission by creating an inclusive, supportive, and engaging environment for students. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, this hybrid position works closely with faculty, staff, and student leaders to enhance student life, professional development, and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute School of Medicine events and programs.
- Collaborate with student organizations and leaders to develop engagement and professional‑development initiatives.
- Support the design and implementation of student wellbeing initiatives.
- Advise students on non‑academic matters and serve as a resource for wellbeing concerns.
- Develop and manage communications related to student events and programs.
- Ensure compliance with university policies and support student organizations.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3‑5 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, student affairs, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and manage events and student programs.
- High emotional intelligence with strong conflict‑resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple shifting priorities.
Required skills
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- General knowledge of higher‑education organization, policies, and procedures.
- Understanding of student wellbeing issues in high‑intensity academic environments.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and interdisciplinary stakeholders.
