About the role
The University of Arkansas seeks an Assistant Director to lead its digital communications and marketing automation efforts. This senior‑level position will shape strategy, drive execution, and ensure the university’s brand reaches audiences across multiple digital channels.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement integrated digital communication strategies that support university goals.
- Manage and optimize marketing automation platforms for email, lead nurturing, and campaign tracking.
- Oversee content creation, distribution, and performance measurement across web, social, and email channels.
- Analyze audience data and campaign metrics to refine tactics and improve ROI.
- Collaborate with academic units, research centers, and external partners to align messaging.
- Supervise a small team of communications specialists and provide mentorship.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Significant experience in digital communications and marketing automation, preferably in higher‑education or large‑scale organizations.
- Proven leadership ability and experience managing cross‑functional projects.
- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on data‑driven decision making.
Required skills
- Proficiency with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo, HubSpot, or similar).
- Expertise in digital communication tools, email marketing, and social media management.
- Ability to interpret analytics and generate actionable insights.
- Knowledge of content management systems and SEO best practices.
