Assembly & Test Technician II

About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is seeking an Assembly & Test Technician II to join the 1st‑shift team in Torrance, CA. You will work on precision assembly and testing of flight‑control actuators for advanced military aircraft such as the F‑35 and V280 Valor.

Key responsibilities

• Perform precision assembly on complex production and repair actuators.
• Adjust and align components using shims, torque wrenches, fixtures and other mechanical methods.
• Utilize measuring tools—including dial indicators, calipers and micrometers—to meet dimensional specifications.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy with gauges, torque tools, and fixtures.
• Execute test operations on hydraulic, mechanical and electromechanical actuators.
• Follow written and oral assembly instructions and blueprints.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED (preferred) with ability to follow verbal, written and computer instructions in English.
• Minimum 3 years of assembly experience in mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical or electronic environments.
• Aerospace industry experience and ability to read blueprints.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant certification is a plus; position is FAA safety‑sensitive.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Required skills

• Precision measuring equipment: dial indicators, calipers, micrometers.
• Torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling, gauges.
• Blueprint reading and mechanical adjustment techniques.
• Hydraulic, mechanical and electromechanical assembly.
• Troubleshooting of mechanical components and test failures.
• Basic computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).
