Applications Engineer – Industrial Pump Solutions

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Applications Engineer to join an international pump manufacturing team in the Syracuse, NY area. You will work closely with customers, sales, and engineering to deliver technical support and customized pumping solutions for a range of industrial applications.

Key responsibilities

• Review customer specifications and application requirements to recommend suitable pump products and system solutions.
• Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and product documentation.
• Provide technical support to customers and internal sales teams throughout the sales cycle.
• Assist with product selection, sizing, and performance calculations.
• Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing on custom projects and product modifications.
• Support troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and post‑sale issue resolution.
• Participate in customer meetings, presentations, and project discussions.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry standards, company products, and emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
• Experience with pumps, fluid systems, rotating equipment, or industrial manufacturing (preferred).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and technical problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with engineering software tools.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD software (a plus).
