Android Engineer

About the role

Robinhood is building the future of finance and needs an Android Engineer to help expand its mobile experience for futures trading. You will join the Futures Engineering team in New York, creating safe, intuitive Android workflows that connect customers to real‑time, high‑stakes financial systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement customer‑facing mobile features for futures trading using Kotlin and the latest Android APIs.
• Own features from concept through design, implementation, testing, and launch.
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers, product managers, designers, and risk partners to deliver reliable, high‑performance functionality.
• Translate complex trading concepts into simple, trusted Android user experiences.
• Maintain and improve the app’s codebase to ensure quality, stability, and scalability.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional Android development experience building consumer applications at scale.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for clean, maintainable code.
• Proficiency in Kotlin or Java and experience with Jetpack libraries.
• Desire to continuously improve the app and its architecture.
• Good product sense and ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
