About the role

The Ambulatory Surgery Registered Nurse provides expert nursing care in an outpatient surgical setting. This role emphasizes proactive planning, self‑directed goal setting, and coordination of patient care throughout the entire continuum.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage complex client situations with deliberate planning.
• Deliver patient education and support self‑management initiatives.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to VA policies and standards.

Required profile

• Proficiency in written and spoken English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7403(f).
• Graduate of an ACEN‑ or CCNE‑accredited nursing program, or equivalent foreign nursing education with recognized equivalency evaluation.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a professional nurse in a U.S. state, territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
• Eligibility for Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) temporary appointment if licensure is pending.
