AI Architect / Developer (Hybrid, Long Beach)

About the role

Capgemini Engineering is looking for an experienced AI Architect/Developer to bridge AI strategy and production‑grade implementation. This hybrid position in Long Beach, CA, will design scalable AI ecosystems, select optimal model architectures, and build custom AI solutions that integrate with enterprise systems.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into robust, high‑performance AI architectural blueprints.
• Develop clean, modular, and maintainable production code for AI models and pipelines.
• Perform model tuning, quantization, and pruning to meet latency, cost, and accuracy targets.
• Lead and mentor junior developers, enforcing best practices in code quality and model security.
• Work within an Agile/Scrum framework, delivering frequent milestones and comprehensive documentation.
• Ensure strict adherence to data privacy, security, and governance standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 + years of experience designing, developing, and delivering enterprise‑scale AI/ML solutions.
• Proven ability to evaluate and select LLMs, SLMs, or traditional ML models based on performance criteria.
• Experience integrating AI services with existing enterprise software, including security and compliance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of neural networks, transformer architectures, and optimization techniques.
