Advanced PAUT Technician – Ultrasonic NDE Specialist

About the role

The Advanced PAUT Technician provides technical implementation and operational support for advanced non‑destructive examination (NDE) technologies, focusing on phased‑array and automated ultrasonic testing. The role involves travel to client sites, manufacturing facilities and offshore locations, primarily within the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Perform specialized NDE inspections using PAUT, AUT corrosion mapping and other advanced ultrasonic methods on piping, pressure vessels, pipelines and structural components.
• Analyze, interpret and compile inspection results to ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
• Prepare and execute jobs according to work instructions, maintaining equipment, documentation and QHSE controls.
• Provide technical reports and presentations to clients, and support SIS Management in day‑to‑day activities.
• Mentor Level I and II NDE technicians, conduct training and assess competency.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years of experience applying advanced ultrasonic methods.
• Level II certification per ASNT‑TC‑1A or CP‑189 in UT and PAUT, with required company certification exams.
• Valid driver’s license, TWIC, HUET, SafeGulf training and ability to obtain a passport.
• High school diploma or equivalent; experience in oil & gas, power generation, pipeline or construction sectors is a plus.

Required skills

• Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) and Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT) corrosion mapping.
• Ultrasonic testing (UT) equipment operation and interpretation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and industry‑specific NDE software (e.g., Zetec/Ultravision, Olympus/Tomoview, PipeWizard AUT).
• Rope Access Level 1 certification and ability to work in confined, elevated or offshore environments.
