About the role
We are seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to lead the transition of cutting‑edge robotics and mechatronic products from concept to high‑volume production. This 4‑month contract position is based in North Reading, MA, and offers the opportunity to work with global supply chains and cross‑functional teams.
Key responsibilities
- Apply Design for X (DFX) principles to move autonomous robotic solutions from design to scalable production.
- Develop and qualify suppliers, managing product‑lifecycle changes across complex global supply chains.
- Lead cross‑functional quality improvement projects and conduct technical root‑cause analysis for supplier defects.
- Design and develop manufacturing test solutions for consumer electronics and robotics systems.
- Implement best‑in‑class manufacturing systems for gearbox assembly, stator winding, rotor manufacturing, and motor integration.
- Collaborate with design teams worldwide to influence product designs for manufacturability at scale.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience applying Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) or other DFX methodologies.
- Hands‑on experience with injection molding, machining, sheet‑metal fabrication, or electronics assembly.
- Proven track record working with contract manufacturers and managing supplier relationships.
- Knowledge of quality systems such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous‑improvement principles.
- Proficiency with CAD software and interpretation of technical drawings.
- Understanding of statistical process control and capability analysis.
