Adjunct Continuing Education Instructor – Healthcare

About the role

The Continuing Education Adjunct Instructor – Healthcare delivers non‑credit classroom instruction to adult learners and evaluates their progress toward program goals. This part‑time position supports the college’s mission to provide high‑quality healthcare education across the service area.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and course outlines aligned with program objectives.
• Deliver classroom instruction, maintain a secure learning environment, and ensure safety compliance.
• Evaluate student performance, track progress, and provide feedback.
• Maintain program certification requirements and complete required administrative reports.
• Request and manage supplies, equipment, and budget needs.
• Stay current with industry trends through training, workshops, and professional literature.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree from an accredited institution (or equivalent experience) and at least three years of business‑environment experience; experience may substitute for the degree year‑for‑year.
• Preferred: documented experience in healthcare or emergency services, employee training in those fields, or teaching healthcare/EMS courses such as American Heart Association BLS or CPR.

What we offer

• Hourly compensation ranging from $35 to $50, determined by qualifications.
• Access to the college’s retirement systems (TRS and ERS) for eligible staff, though adjunct positions are not eligible for retirement benefits, state insurance, leave, or holiday pay.
