Accounts Payable Specialist (Temp-to-Hire)

About the role

Enerstaff is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist in Houston, Texas, working on site in the Accounting department. This is a temp-to-hire position starting as soon as possible, with hours from 8am to 5pm and pay of $24-$29 per hour. The role provides financial, administrative and clerical support by ensuring payments are completed and expenses are controlled through invoice management and processing.

Key responsibilities

• Review invoices for documentation, general ledger coding, sales and use tax implications and internal approvals
• Record invoices, credit memos, performance and prepayment requests
• Work with company sites and vendors to resolve open invoices
• Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
• Process PO and non-PO invoices, match invoices and resolve exceptions
• Handle GRNI reconciliation, account reconciliations and aging cleanup
• Manage vendor accounts, reduce backlogs and improve processes

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of Accounts Payable experience
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Sound organization and time management, multitasking ability
• Attention to detail, accuracy and consistency in data entry
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must pass a background check and drug screen
