Accounting Analyst

About the role

Greystar is seeking an Accounting Analyst to support its real‑estate portfolio by extracting, processing and reporting financial data in a GAAP environment. The role works Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑5 pm ET, and collaborates with internal property accountants and business managers to ensure accurate accounting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of data across the function and enterprise, including internal and external systems.
• Resolve help‑desk tickets from property accountants, addressing transactional issues promptly.
• Prepare and post accounts‑receivable charge templates to corporate ledgers in line with company policies and accounting standards.
• Manage large data sets using advanced Excel techniques, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
• Extract, combine and deliver ad‑hoc and scheduled reports to internal and external stakeholders.
• Compile reports, respond to data inquiries, and support business processes and projects requiring sophisticated reporting analytics.
• Maintain data integrity through auditing, analysis and error troubleshooting.
• Communicate with team members and business managers to ensure timely completion of accounting processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a proven ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles and accounting standards.
• Experience working with large data sets and delivering accurate financial reporting.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, data manipulation).
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting standards.
