Accountant – Retail, Wholesale & E‑commerce

About the role

The Accountant will join Lacoste’s finance team, reporting to the Accounting Manager. The role covers accounting for retail, wholesale, e‑commerce and corporate operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare sales and gross profit reports by pulling POS data, posting to books and comparing actuals to budget.
• Assess revenues, commissions and operating expenses for proper recording.
• Handle chargebacks and reconcile petty‑cash and card accounts.
• Facilitate month‑end close, including reconciliation of all balance‑sheet accounts and bank statements.
• Maintain the fixed‑assets register and post monthly depreciation.
• Analyze P&L, accrue expenses, and manage deferred and percentage‑rent schedules.
• Review facility expenses to ensure alignment with lease terms.
• Maintain property‑tax database, file annual business returns and assist with corporate income‑tax filings.
• Respond to internal and external auditor requests for sales‑tax, property‑tax, and financial audits.
• Participate in ad‑hoc projects assigned by senior management.

Required profile

• BS in Accounting (MBA a plus).
• Self‑sufficient with strong decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities.
