Account Director – Fashion

About the role

PURPLE is a global lifestyle communications agency with offices in major cities worldwide. The agency is seeking an experienced Account Director to lead its Fashion division in New York, driving brand exposure through product placement, media features and launch events. The role requires a passion for luxury brands and the ability to develop and execute strategic communications plans.

Key responsibilities

• Lead client meetings, provide strategic counsel and develop cohesive communication strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Oversee planning and execution of media campaigns, product launches, fashion week events and influencer programs across NYC, London and LA.
• Maintain and grow relationships with key journalists, editors and media contacts, acting as the brand ambassador for assigned clients.
• Manage product‑related media requests, sample distribution, inventory and media monitoring to secure editorial coverage.
• Lead and develop junior team members, set targets, and ensure delivery of PR results within budget.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in fashion PR with an established network of press contacts.
• Strong client liaison skills, able to have tough conversations and provide proactive strategic advice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and organizational abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to generate business growth and pitch new opportunities.
