Accessory Designer – Junior Market (NYC)

About the role

We are a fast‑moving, trend‑driven fashion company focused on the junior market. We are looking for a creative, detail‑oriented Accessory Designer to develop headwear, neckwear, cold‑weather accessories, and belts from concept to production in our New York office.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct seasonal trend, colour and material research for the junior customer.
• Design and develop on‑trend accessories across multiple categories, creating sketches, CADs and tech packs.
• Communicate daily with overseas factories to ensure design intent and troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with production, sourcing and cross‑functional teams to meet timelines and cost targets.
• Develop prints, graphics and surface embellishments where applicable.
• Monitor competitor activity, market trends and consumer insights.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Accessories Design or related field (preferred).
• 3–5 years of accessory design experience, preferably multi‑category and junior market.
• Proven experience working directly with overseas factories.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Ability to create digital sketches quickly and clearly.
• Solid understanding of accessory construction, materials and technical specifications.
• Experience with CAD and creating detailed tech packs/spec sheets.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
