Access Coordinator II (PRN)

About the role

The Access Coordinator II (PRN) provides comprehensive support for patient care activities across multiple clinics at UAMS, handling registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and front‑desk interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule, reschedule, coordinate, and cancel appointments using the hospital system.
• Conduct pre‑registration, create new patient charts, and update patient information.
• Verify insurance coverage, run eligibility checks, and explain benefits.
• Greet and assist the public, answer phones professionally, and manage conflicts with strong listening and negotiation.
• Maintain accurate records, complete documentation of continuing education, and attend required training.
• Assist with hospital admissions, surgery scheduling, and other patient‑care support tasks as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of customer service or healthcare experience.
• Basic computer proficiency, preferably with MS Office.
• Excellent telephone etiquette and professional communication skills.
