About the role

ACCEL Schools is seeking a qualified 6th‑8th grade English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher for South Columbus Preparatory Academy at German Village for the 2026‑27 school year. The teacher will deliver a rigorous, hands‑on curriculum while fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and adapt lesson plans for ELA and Social Studies across grades 6‑8.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
• Utilize research‑based best practices and integrate technology to enhance learning.
• Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning climate.
• Communicate regularly with families about academic and social‑emotional growth.
• Participate in non‑instructional activities and collaborate with colleagues.

Required profile

• Active Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Experience working in an urban school environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information and supervise students in various settings.
