Vice President, Accounting – ESG Controller

About the role

The Vice President, Accounting – ESG Controller is a senior finance leader responsible for global sustainability reporting, compliance, controls, and governance. Reporting to the EVP, Corporate Controller, the role bridges day‑to‑day execution with strategic oversight across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Corporate Sustainability and global executive leadership to ensure compliance with global sustainability reporting regulations.
• Lead implementation of sustainability reporting frameworks such as CSRD/ESRS, EU Taxonomy, ISSB, and California climate disclosures.
• Deliver consolidated regulated sustainability disclosures and support regional controllership and Corporate Sustainability in statutory and voluntary reporting.
• Execute double materiality risk assessments and ensure ESRS compliance linked to strategy, risks, and metrics.
• Supervise a team managing ESG disclosure controls, internal control framework, risk assessment, testing, and remediation.
• Govern ESG data definitions, validation, evidence, and lineage to enable assurance‑ready reporting at scale.
• Coordinate with Internal Audit and external assurance teams, providing evidence and closing findings.
• Monitor emerging standards and advise leadership on impacts to reporting quality, risk, and operating model maturity.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred (MBA a plus).
• Senior leadership experience in complex, matrixed organizations with a proven ability to lead teams and drive outcomes through influence.
• Strong controllership mindset with extensive experience in governance, controls, and regulatory compliance.
