Trades Technician – HVAC & Kitchen Equipment

About the role

The Trades Technician – HVAC & Kitchen Equipment provides hands‑on installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning systems and commercial kitchen equipment across the University of Arkansas campus. This full‑time, fixed‑term position supports a safe, comfortable environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service, and troubleshoot HVAC units, refrigeration systems, and kitchen appliances.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and respond to emergency service calls.
• Inspect equipment for safety compliance and document work performed.
• Coordinate with facilities staff to schedule repairs and upgrades.
• Maintain inventory of parts and tools, ordering supplies as needed.

Required profile

• Completed vocational training or apprenticeship in HVAC, refrigeration, or related trades.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., EPA, NATE) and a valid driver’s license.
• Experience working in a commercial or institutional setting.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
