Tool Room Attendant

About the role

Amentum is hiring a Tool Room Attendant to receive, store and issue tools, measuring devices, support equipment, materials and supplies that support local and field-based maintenance activities. The role also covers inspection, repair, inventory and housekeeping of the tool room.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, store and issue tools, measuring devices, support equipment, materials and supplies.
• Inspect and measure tools and equipment for defects and wear, visually or with a micrometer, and report damage or wear to the supervisor.
• Repair, service and lubricate tools and equipment.
• Mark and identify tools and equipment with tags, stamps and/or electric marking tools.
• Locate lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
• Prepare periodic inventory inspections and maintain a perpetual inventory using Excel spreadsheets, the Maximo database and/or manual records.
• Keep the assigned work area clean and maintain a safe workplace.
• Perform other duties as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One or more years of experience issuing, maintaining and monitoring tools.
• Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods, with medical, dental, drug screening, background checks and US citizenship (for facility credentials).
• Ability to lift and move items and work outdoors in extreme cold.
• Valid US driver's license.

Required skills

• Familiarity with office and inventory/stock control software.
• Mechanical skills to keep tools in safe operating condition.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Ability to learn and use Maximo work order software.
• Strong written and verbal communication with management and frontline workers.
