Temporary Assistant Child Care Teacher

About the role

The Georgetown Law Early Learning Center is seeking a Temporary Assistant Child Care Teacher to support a nurturing, responsive, and engaging learning environment for young children of faculty, staff, and students. This on‑site role contributes to the Center’s mission of providing high‑quality early education in a safe, healthy setting.

Key responsibilities

• Implement developmentally appropriate, age‑specific educational activities.
• Create and maintain a safe, healthy environment for children.
• Build positive relationships with families and communicate regularly about child progress.
• Collaborate with the GLELC team and follow all Georgetown, OSSE, and licensing policies.
• Comply with statutory, regulatory, and policy requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, OR an associate degree (or higher) in any field, OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) with at least 60 credit hours, OR a state‑approved certificate comparable to a CDA.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Clear criminal background check, child‑protection registry clearance, and drug/alcohol testing as required by OSSE and Georgetown.
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lb and perform a wide range of motions.
