Technical Advisor III, Global Health Security

About the role

The Technical Advisor III, Global Health Security, contributes to the development of strategy, design, and implementation of high‑quality health security programs worldwide. The role provides senior‑level technical advice, leads capacity‑strengthening initiatives, and ensures integration of health security with other sectors such as nutrition, gender, protection, and disaster risk reduction.

Key responsibilities

• Design, advocate for, and implement agency‑wide strategies, standards, tools, and best practices in public health, focusing on health security and resilient health systems.
• Provide technical solutions and guidance to regional and country teams for strategic planning, program design, and adaptation of standards.
• Support proposal development and complex project design to ensure innovative, high‑quality programming.
• Lead capacity‑strengthening initiatives, develop learning and training curricula, and facilitate trainings, workshops, and conferences globally.
• Mentor and coach technical advisors, country personnel, and regional staff on CRS approaches and tools.
• Oversee elements of knowledge management and learning agendas related to health security and systems strengthening.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in global health security and health system resilience.
• Proven ability to provide strategic technical assistance and lead multi‑sectoral programs.
• Experience in capacity‑strengthening, knowledge management, and mentorship of staff and partners.
