Sr. Manager, Cryopreservation Operations

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Senior Manager to lead Cryopreservation operations at its Raritan, NJ Cell Therapy facility. The role drives long‑term strategy, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence for personalized cell therapy manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all Cryopreservation/MOI/QCCB operations supporting clinical and commercial cell therapy needs.
• Build a culture of continuous improvement, focusing on quality, value creation, performance management, and capacity.
• Manage and develop managers and operational staff across the value stream, including hiring and talent development.
• Partner with Quality, Maintenance, Planning, and Operations Support to ensure seamless execution of activities.
• Develop and execute a vision for operations, improving performance, technology utilization, and cost competitiveness.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and strong environmental, health, and safety performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including GMP production environment.
• Proven leadership in team development, diversity and inclusion, and resilience to challenges.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with strong interpersonal influencing skills.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Science or Engineering preferred.

Required skills

• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) experience.
• Lean methodologies – Green or Black Belt certification preferred.
• Experience with electronic batch records and ERP systems.
• Knowledge of sterile biological/pharmaceutical manufacturing.

What we offer

• Base salary range $122,000‑$208,250 per year.
