Social Media Manager – AI Communications

About the role

Google’s Global Communications and Public Affairs team is seeking a Social Media Manager to lead AI‑focused storytelling across social platforms. You will work closely with AI research, product, and engineering leaders to showcase Google’s AI innovations and responsible approach.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute proactive social media campaigns that highlight Google AI products and research.
• Provide strategic counsel and content guidance to AI leadership for major launches and evergreen programming.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional partners—including GCPA, Marketing, and product teams—to ensure consistent external messaging.
• Manage day‑to‑day social media activity on platforms such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Bluesky, and Threads, and explore emerging channels.
• Measure and report on campaign performance using social media analytics tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in social media, executive communications, or external communications within technology or research organizations.
• Direct experience working with product, engineering, or research leaders.
• Proven ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, engaging narratives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
