Senior Systems Engineer (E3) - NASA Human Spaceflight

About the role

Amentum Space Exploration Division (ASED), working through TriVector Services, Inc., is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (SME3) to lead and/or execute E3 activities for NASA Human Spaceflight missions. The role supports NASA Program and Project Management in keeping risk postures balanced, consistent and acceptable across missions, and serves as an executive consultant to NASA partners on request.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and/or execute E3 activities to maintain knowledge of NASA Program and Project architectures and to advise on risk posture for Human Spaceflight missions and other NASA missions.
• Serve as an executive consultant to NASA partners, including commercial entities and international governments, upon request.
• Chair working groups, ad hoc teams and TIMs as necessary.
• Guide and mentor less experienced NASA E3 practitioners at MSFC and other centers toward becoming Subject Matter Experts in space systems.
• Serve on cross-cutting panels, working groups and study teams with specialists from related disciplines.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent, plus at least 25 years of direct E3 experience in NASA Human Spaceflight missions.
• Preferred: ABET-accredited engineering degree; PhD with 24+ years, MS with 28+ years, or BS with 30+ years of experience.
• US citizen with a STAR ID; proof of citizenship required.
• Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, work independently with minimal supervision, and travel domestically within the USA (about 5%).

Required skills

• Electrical engineering and/or physics background.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464, and NASA, center and other E3 and EMI specifications.
• Technical writing and presentation capabilities.
• Familiarity with common computer operating systems and Microsoft Office.
