Senior Regulatory Counsel – New York

About the role

TikTok is seeking an experienced regulatory lawyer to join its New York team. The role involves shaping regulatory strategy, assessing legislative impact, and advising on engagements with government bodies across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze emerging regulatory developments across U.S. federal, state, and international jurisdictions.
• Assess applicability and business impact of new regulatory requirements, collaborating with policy, product, compliance, and operations teams.
• Support responses to regulatory inquiries and investigations, coordinating internal stakeholders and developing legal positions.
• Partner with the government relations team to inform engagement strategies and provide legal analysis for advocacy.
• Develop internal guidance and scalable processes to track and operationalize regulatory changes.

Required profile

• Qualified to practice law in the United States.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in government, private practice, or in‑house roles.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate legal and reputational risks and make informed recommendations.
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills in complex environments.
• Excellent legal and business judgment with strategic thinking.
