Senior QA Engineer - Playwright Automation

About the role

Electric Power Engineers, Inc. (EPE), an Austin, Texas-based energy consulting firm, is looking for a Senior QA Engineer to lead the design, build and maintenance of automated test frameworks for its web applications. The role suits someone with strong hands-on Playwright experience, a solid background in software quality assurance and familiarity with modern CI/CD processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated UI and API test suites using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript or Python)
• Build and extend modular, reusable automation frameworks
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)
• Perform functional, regression, smoke and cross-browser testing, combining automation and manual testing
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to understand requirements and define test plans
• Identify, document and track defects, verify fixes and ensure test coverage
• Analyze test results and share insights with engineering teams, and mentor QA team members on Playwright and automation

Required profile

• 3-5+ years of experience in QA automation engineering
• Proven experience writing automated tests with Playwright
• Experience with modern QA methodologies, test design and test management tools
• Hands-on CI/CD integration for automated tests
• REST API testing experience and Git knowledge
• Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication in a fast-paced, agile environment
