Senior Plant Designer (Remote/Hybrid)

About the role

Amentum is hiring a Senior Plant Designer for a remote/hybrid position, with a preference for candidates local to Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The role covers mechanical and piping design deliverables, BIM modelling and coordination with engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop piping systems and equipment layouts in SmartPlant 3D or similar BIM design tools
• Prepare general equipment arrangement deliverables
• Assist in resolving interferences and developing resolutions
• Integrate with other BIM tools such as Intelligent Schematics
• Work with Piping Engineering on pipe specifications and stress analysis support locations
• Work with Structural Engineering on pipe support designs
• Manage model outputs for material lists and reports
• Work with Civil on underground interface connections

Required profile

• AS degree or higher
• 14+ years using BIM tools for plant design
• Chemical process industrial mechanical/piping design experience
• Nuclear piping design experience preferred
• U.S. citizenship required; valid driver's license required
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere and show professional behaviour
• Physical demands include intermittent sitting, walking, standing, lifting up to 20 lbs and occasional travel near construction sites
