Senior ML Research Scientist

About the role

Rad AI is seeking a senior researcher to lead a multimodal machine‑learning work‑stream that spans problem definition, experimentation, evaluation, deployment and iteration. You will translate clinical and product needs into concrete ML objectives and data strategies, building systems that directly improve radiology workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end ML projects, from data collection and model design to production delivery and post‑launch monitoring.
• Develop and evaluate modern ML models including transformers, self‑supervised learning, weak supervision, detection, localization and segmentation on image, report and other clinical data.
• Design rigorous clinical evaluations, addressing robustness, calibration and performance across data slices.
• Partner with engineering to productionize models and investigate failure modes such as laterality errors, hallucination and dataset bias.
• Mentor junior researchers and engineers, and contribute to the research roadmap.

Required profile

• 4+ years of applied ML research or engineering experience, with strong ownership of full‑lifecycle projects.
• Deep hands‑on expertise in Python and PyTorch, and solid intuition for model architecture, data quality and experimentation.
• Experience with modern vision or multimodal techniques (vision transformers, contrastive learning, masked image modeling, weak supervision).
• Ability to connect model performance to real clinical outcomes and communicate findings to technical and clinical partners.
