Senior Controls Technician

About the role

The Senior Controls Technician will travel to customer sites to perform comprehensive controls audits, support commissioning activities, and collaborate closely with engineering teams on brownfield projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical and controls system audits, documenting legacy and distributed architectures such as Ethernet, Profibus, CAN, and other fieldbus networks.
• Support commissioning, demolition, pre‑commissioning, system start‑up, go‑live, and post‑go‑live activities on active projects.
• Identify gaps or risks in existing controls equipment and provide detailed audit reports.
• Communicate directly with customers to clarify requirements and deliver status updates to Dematic leadership.

Required profile

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering (preferred).
• 3‑5 years of experience in controls, preferably on brownfield projects with extensive travel (≈80%).
• Strong independent field work ability and customer‑facing communication skills.

Required skills

• Allen‑Bradley PLC based control systems.
• Bihl and Wiedermann software tools (Asi Controls Tools, ASIMON).
• Knowledge of Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet, CAN, Hirschman Hi‑vision networks.
• Understanding of safety standards (NFPA 79, UL) and controls power distribution.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and documentation.
