Senior Accountant – QuickBooks & Construction Accounting

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations on a long‑term contract assignment in Sunrise, Florida. The role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, managing month‑end close activities, and overseeing day‑to‑day transactional accounting for both payables and receivables.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, supporting schedules, and perform account analysis during the monthly close.
• Maintain general ledger integrity by recording transactions accurately and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Execute account and bank reconciliations to ensure complete and supported balances.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice review, payment tracking, collections support, and cash application.
• Prepare detailed financial schedules and documentation for internal reporting and audit readiness.
• Support construction accounting tasks such as tracking project‑related costs and organizing cost data.
• Utilize QuickBooks to enter, review, and monitor accounting activity while maintaining system accuracy.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to clarify accounting issues and improve documentation.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of progressive accounting experience in a senior‑level role.
• Hands‑on experience with QuickBooks in an accounting environment.
• Strong knowledge of month‑end close processes, general ledger activity, and journal entry preparation.
• Proven ability to complete accurate account and bank reconciliations.
• Experience handling both accounts payable and accounts receivable responsibilities.
• Familiarity with construction accounting practices is strongly preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
