About the role
The Secretary supports the administration of a school district by managing office operations, handling communications, and ensuring that student and staff needs are met efficiently. This position reports to the Principal, Assistant Principal, or Director and works closely with school leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain systematic records of school transactions and documentation.
- Receive, route, and manage all incoming calls.
- Maintain office equipment, inventories, and supplies.
- Track staff leave, absences, and maintain related files.
- File correspondence, invoices, and other records promptly.
- Assist with purchasing by identifying needs and following pricing and quality guidelines.
- Lead or attend staff meetings, trainings, and serve on committees as required.
- Manage district‑owned fixed assets assigned to the role.
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to all district, state, and federal policies.
- Perform additional duties as directed by the Board of Education or district leadership.
Required profile
- High school diploma or higher.
- Knowledge of computer operations and office software.
- Familiarity with Frontline Absence Reporting preferred.
- Ability to work regular, dependable, in‑person hours.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and following established policies.
