About the role

BASF is seeking an experienced Sales Account Manager to join its Amines & Specialties Business (CIA & CID Chemical Intermediates). The role is remote within the United States, covering North American chemical markets such as water treatment, CASE, and personal care, with 40‑60% travel.

Key responsibilities

  • Generate and manage leads, collaborating with Product Managers and Business Development to close new opportunities.
  • Identify new customers and gather market intelligence to support organic growth.
  • Develop compelling value propositions and build lasting relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain Salesforce records, produce call reports, and manage contracts, negotiations, pricing, and margins.

Required profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or Business.
  • 8+ years of sales and customer experience, preferably in commodity chemicals.
  • Strong planning, organization, and self‑starter attitude.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on delivering value.

Required skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • CRM systems experience.
  • Salesforce proficiency (preferred).
