Research Technician

About the role

The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture seeks a Research Technician to join a multidisciplinary team focused on mitigating the environmental impacts of poultry litter while enhancing its agronomic value. This fixed‑term position involves hands‑on laboratory work supporting research on air, soil, and water resources.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory analyses of poultry manure, poultry meal, and related environmental samples.
• Measure pH, quantify nutrients, assess metal concentrations, and perform pathogen detection following established protocols.
• Record and manage data accurately for use in research reports and publications.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor of Science in Soil Science, Genomics, Poultry Science, Microbiology, or a closely related field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow scientific protocols.
• Effective communication skills for documenting results and collaborating with team members.
