Range Maintenance Technician

About the role

Amentum is seeking a dedicated Range Maintenance Technician to provide day-to-day repairs for all facilities under its areas of range operations in support of an O&M contract. Typical support duties run Monday to Friday from 06:30 to 3:30, with occasional evenings and weekends. The work takes place in an unconditioned outdoor environment, including extreme heat, humidity and cold.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment and follow site policies, EHS and QA procedures
• Perform range cleaning procedures, safety reviews and walk-throughs
• Maintain ranges, range equipment and facilities, and assist with live fire facilities, battery-operated, pneumatic and static steel systems
• Troubleshoot system issues with the O&M utilities team and help develop test concepts
• Keep range equipment and consumables stocked and follow schedules set by the Facilities Manager
• Maintain and clean government-issued items and property, and submit purchase requests for consumables and parts

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience in range maintenance or a related field
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, stand 8-10 hours per shift, and work outdoors in extreme heat and cold
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification
• Preferred: CDL, heavy equipment experience (frontend loader, skid steer, backhoe)

Required skills

• 24-hour HAZWOPER certification, with annual 8-hour refresher
• Knowledge of RCRA requirements
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, online training platforms, timekeeping systems and email
