Purchasing Specialist – Manufacturing Home Builder

About the role

Champion Home Builders is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support its manufactured home production operations in Athens, TX. The role focuses on managing procurement activities, ensuring accurate specifications, and maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Verify nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests.
• Prepare, send, and follow up on Requests for Quotations (RFQs) with suppliers.
• Gather commodity market price data for reporting.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and change notices based on inventory needs.
• Review purchase order claims and contracts for compliance with company policy.
• Collaborate with suppliers on invoice and payment issues.
• Meet with vendors to discuss new products and existing orders.
• Maintain price changes by coordinating with accounting for accurate addendums.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Teams.
• Understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
• Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and follow company policies.
• Strong multitasking and issue‑resolution skills.
• Manufactured housing industry experience desired.
• Purchasing or materials experience desired.
