Project Engineer

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager and Superintendent in planning and executing construction projects. The role involves coordinating schedules, budgets, and on‑site activities to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.

Key responsibilities

• Build relationships and communicate effectively with subcontractors and project team members.
• Assist in managing the overall site, subcontractors, and inspection of completed work.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues that could affect the construction schedule, escalating concerns when necessary.
• Participate in punch lists, city inspections, safety and quality reviews, and prepare related documentation.
• Handle project controls including RFIs, submittals, document management, change orders and quality control.
• Review and recommend change orders, solicit pricing from subcontractors, and adjust budgets accordingly.
• Process submittal data and drawings to expedite schedules and ensure timely material delivery.
• Support pre‑construction activities such as quantity take‑offs, bid package development, and estimate preparation.
• Update project and subcontractor schedules and assist in budget management.
• Attend Owner‑Architect‑Contractor meetings and help prepare progress reports and meeting minutes.

Required profile

• Experience supporting construction project teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple documents and schedules.
• Ability to identify and resolve schedule‑impacting issues proactively.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with subcontractors, architects, and internal stakeholders.
