Principal Network Evaluator

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Principal Network Evaluator with strong networking knowledge to support a Computer Network Defense mission. The evaluator works closely with Government stakeholders to identify network vulnerabilities, investigate cyber threats, run network defense operations and give recommendations that strengthen enterprise security and mission capabilities. The position is not safety-sensitive.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct proactive computer network defense activities: analyze systems and networks to find vulnerabilities, detect intrusions, monitor security events, assess attack surfaces and develop courses of action to mitigate cyber threats.
• Perform vulnerability assessments with industry-standard tools, analyze routing devices, traffic and audit logs, and conduct packet analysis.
• Research emerging technologies and vulnerabilities, support digital forensics and exploitation analysis, document findings and produce reports and recommendations for Government stakeholders.

Required profile

• Master's degree plus 9 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree plus 11 years, or Associate's degree plus 13 years.
• TS/SCI poly security clearance required.
• Experience with computer network defense, vulnerability assessment, incident response, packet analysis, SIEM technologies and cybersecurity analysis.
• Experience researching system vulnerabilities and developing mitigation strategies.
• Preferred: previous Hunt/Blue Team experience, knowledge of NDI methodology, MITRE ATT&CK, NIST frameworks, and cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CySA+, GCIH, GCIA, GCFA, CISSP.

Required skills

• Strong networking knowledge of Cisco, Juniper and Arista devices and protocols.
• Practical experience with Splunk and Elastic.
• Preferred: Wireshark, tcpdump, and scripting languages.
