Overnight Specimen Processor – Lab Technician

About the role

Pride Health is seeking an Overnight Specimen Processor to join a medical facility in Lewisville, TX. This 3‑month fixed‑term assignment works the night shift (Tuesday‑Saturday, 10 pm‑6:30 am) and offers a pathway to a permanent position based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Sort, receive, and log incoming specimens.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance and weekly radioactive wipe tests.
• Centrifuge specimens, print extra labels, and record temperature data.
• Prepare reagents, media, and worklists; aliquot specimens and check for clots or fibrin.
• Inoculate, prepare slides, and manage specimen storage and retrieval.
• Execute QA/QC duties, resolve pending lists, and locate missing samples.
• Decontaminate work areas, change gas cylinders, and dispose of biohazardous material.
• Use the laboratory computer system and standard PCs for data entry and tracking.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant training is a plus.
• No prior experience required, but ability to prioritize tasks and retain information is essential.
• Must follow PPE requirements and safety regulations.
• Professional interaction with coworkers and customers with courtesy and respect.
