New Patient Intake Nurse

About the role

The New Patient Intake Nurse coordinates patient intake, scheduling, and care for all physicians within a leading cancer center. This role supports EMR conversion initiatives and serves as a liaison between physicians and the care team.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate new patient intake and scheduling for all physicians.
• Assist triage nurses and track/report incoming referral patterns.
• Participate in training and lead the transition to Mosaiq and OncoEMR electronic medical record systems.
• Act as a physician liaison during and after EMR conversion.
• Schedule all new consult patients and ensure smooth workflow.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in a clinic setting.
• Active RN or LPN license in good standing with the state of Louisiana.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Oncology nursing experience preferred.
• ONS/OCN certification highly preferred.
• Knowledge of oncology clinic and infusion operations is a plus.
