About the role
Warner Bros. Discovery’s CNN channel is looking for an experienced Motion Graphics Designer to bring journalism to life through dynamic visual storytelling. You will work across video, digital, streaming, and social platforms, collaborating closely with producers, editors, and editorial teams.
Key responsibilities
- Design and animate motion graphics for digital video, social media, streaming content, and video podcasts.
- Partner with producers, editors, and creative leads to develop visual approaches for stories.
- Translate scripts, reporting, and data into clear visual narratives.
- Deliver projects ranging from same‑day breaking‑news turnarounds to longer‑term feature pieces.
- Create templates, toolkits, and reusable animation systems for recurring franchises.
- Build MOGRT files to enable scalable graphics workflows for editors and producers.
- Maintain CNN’s visual standards and brand consistency.
- Contribute to the visual style development of new shows and editorial initiatives.
Required profile
- 3–6+ years of professional motion graphics experience in news, media, production, or digital storytelling.
- Strong editorial judgment, speed, and ability to simplify complex information.
- Experience working in fast‑paced editorial or production environments.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Expertise in After Effects expressions, scripting, and creating MOGRT assets.
- 3D animation experience (a plus).
