About the role

Midwestone Bank is seeking a Mortgage Banking Officer to originate and manage residential real‑estate loans. The role combines loan production, customer service, and cross‑selling of bank products in a supportive, community‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Interview applicants to assess mortgage needs and financial condition.
• Submit loan applications for underwriting review and ensure compliance with bank policies.
• Close approved loans, completing all required documentation.
• Develop new accounts and expand the mortgage portfolio through realtor outreach and strategic partnerships.
• Provide advisory support to colleagues and customers on mortgage services.

Required profile

• Associate degree or equivalent education/experience.
• 3‑5 years of mortgage lending experience.
• Willingness to register with the NMLS.
