Mechanical Maintenance Technician Apprentice

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician Apprentice to join our Wyandotte, MI production facility. You will combine on‑the‑job training with an Associate of Applied Science program in Multi‑Skilled Manufacturing Maintenance, while supporting a wide range of equipment that produces products for sports, automotive, pharmaceutical and home‑care markets.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, rebuild and repair diverse production and processing machines.
• Use hand tools, power tools and testing instruments for equipment maintenance.
• Inspect parts with measurement devices such as calipers and micrometers.
• Perform preventative maintenance and suggest improvements to existing PM procedures.
• Support non‑production tasks including plumbing, filter changes, lighting and minor electrical work.
• Troubleshoot and repair system components, contact suppliers for assistance when needed.
• Follow EHS policies and promote a safe working environment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in a plant environment and lift up to 50 lb.
• Willingness to work an 8‑hour fixed day shift, with possible weekends and holidays.
• Enrollment in a degree program to launch a manufacturing career.
• Comfort with climbing stairs, walking on metal walkways, working at heights and in various plant areas.
